The CNA competency exam is your doorway to a wonderful career in healthcare. Once you have undergone the appropriate training approved and accredited by your state nursing board, you have to sit the exam in order to be certified, licensed, and included in the state nurse registry. So passing the exam is a big deal. Luckily, there are various useful resources to help even the average student prepare for and pass the exam with ease. The best resources are practice tests which not only test your skills and knowledge but also prepare you for the tense examination environment. These resources are found both in electronic format and in print, online and offline. Some of the helpful resources you might want to consider when preparing for your CNA examinations include the following :

Practice Tests

You can never sit for enough practice tests. The earlier you start practicing your exam taking skills during your CNA training, the better. There are hundreds of free and paid CNA practice tests that you can use. The free ones are typically online tests with an answer key at the end showing the correct answers and possibly your grade. The paid ones may contain answer explanations, may be professionally scored, and may be timed so as to best simulate the exam environment. Exposing yourself to many different practice tests prepares you for different types of questions from a wide array of topics. Regular testing calms your nerves and boosts your confidence in facing the test environment.

Study Resources

Apart from practice tests there are lots of CNA study resources online and offline. A good CNA website can offer a study handbook, the state’s CNA syllabus, and even options for a personal online tutor to help you where you feel stuck. These resources have so much information ranging from how to correctly prepare a professional, impressive, job-getting CNA resume, information about test schedules and test sites, and other valuable information.

Utilize Networks

Your lecturers can be your main source of study guidance, but should not be your only source. Your fellow students can make the best study collaborators. With them, you can practice the skills you have learnt together and use study groups to explain things out for easier memory retention. You can also enlist the help of your family members. For instance, you can use the younger kids in your home in a play setting to practice the first aid skills you learnt in class. You can discuss the theories you have learnt in class with the adults in your home, you can even ask responsible family members to assist you by waking you up at certain times with a reminder to read your course notes.

The CNA training period is short, only about 6 weeks. Thus, you need to optimize on all resources at your disposal so as to adequately prepare for the competency exam. Your friends, family, colleagues, and teachers are the people best placed to assist you. Online resources and college libraries contain many useful and updated writings on nurse aid techniques.

Are you planning on taking the Defense Language Aptitude Battery test soon and you need some help studding?  Most people say there are no good resources out there that will really help you with the exam.  However I just recently found something that will help with your score.

Is There Any Helpful Study Material to Ace Your DLAB Test

I asked a friend who passed the examination what he used to study.  He gave me a DLAB study guide, now I thought these were not going to be very good since no one really knew about them, but I gave it a whirl.

I loved it; this DLAB study guide was very informative in all the subjects.  It had everything you need to know about the final exam and had a few little notes inside that are very useful to know.  Even though I had not taken the DLAB test yet (but will be soon), I still did not have any questions about what the book was saying, because the answer was always in the DLAB pre exam book.

This Language examination guide also had practice questions in it.  I did not know this at first until after I took the test but the questions in the book were actual questions that were in the official test.  Even though I did not know in the beginning that that was the case it was still super helpful when test time came.

Another thing that was great about this DLAB Study guide was that it used the same exact grammar rules that are in the examination.  So they were not made up, and you practice exactly what you will be taking an exam on.

Now when I finished that book I searched around to see if there were any more out there and found a few more.  Now there is a very large gap between the cheaper ones and the more expensive ones, about a $13 difference.  So since the one that I borrowed was a cheaper one I decided to go with a more expensive one.  I ended up with the Language exam book that was second most expensive.

The first thing I thought when I started reading this book was “did this writer ever take the test himself?”  Because it was terrible, there was no sense in the book at all.  I threw my money straight down the drain on that one.  Please take my advice and stay away form it.

So after that happened I just stayed with the Defense Language study guide that I borrowed and still did just fine.  I was well prepared for the test, but still kind of wish I would have gotten another Language exam book just for the extra practice.  However I didn’t and when test time came I did pretty well.  I was well prepared and of course was just a tad bit nervous.

Anyways if you are one who needs to take the Defense language aptitude Battery Test soon, I would highly recommend that you purchase one of the cheaper, not expensive, DLAB study Guides.  So I wish you good luck with your test.
